Perfect for a family vacation, this holiday cottage in Dorset is both comfortable and atmospheric. Spend your days enjoying
the nearby village of Marshwood or exploring the coastal landscape. In the evening you'll return home to this self catering cottage
in Dorset to relax and tell stories around the cozy wood-burning stove.
This cottage is a Grade II listed Georgian detached house. It occupies an elevated position within an Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty and has stunning long-range views over the Marshwood Vale to the sea. Situated between Crewkerne and Lyme
Regis, it is within 20 minutes of Dorset's Jurassic coast and the nearest beaches at Lyme Regis and Charmouth. The cottage is
located within the hamlet of Birdsmoorgate, just outside the village of Marshwood (village shop 1/2 mile; local pub, which hosts
the World Nettle Eating Championships, just under 1.5 miles). The area is well known for its walking with Pilsdon Pen, Dorset's
highest point, and many routes, such as the Wessex Ridgeway within a few miles. Forde Abbey, surrounded by one of England's
most beautiful gardens is four miles away. Exceptional locally sourced food is available in the many nearby farm shops.
Ground floor: Entrance hall, kitchen with table (seats 8), utility room, sitting room, dining room, children's playroom, WC
with shower. Stairs to double bedroom with 5' bed, en suite bathroom and WC, second double bedroom with 5' four-poster bed,
third double bedroom with 6' zip and link bed (which can be converted to twin 3' beds on request), fourth bedroom with twin 3'
beds, bathroom with separate shower and WC. The rear bedrooms have french windows opening into the back garden.
Please Note:
Please beware of some low headroom (though the owner who is 6'5" has managed to survive).
Please be aware that the rear garden does have a raised pond, on the terrace.
The garden is considered safe for children once inside the enclosed area.
Minimum 7 nights Saturday to Saturday during July and August.

Security Deposit • No security deposit or cleaning fee is required. However, the client will be liable for any extra
charges incurred during the stay, or accidental damages to the property.
Additional Expenses • If available, telephone charges are extra. Payphones installed in the properties accept 10p
pieces. International and operator calls are not possible.
Other Notes • Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome in most cottages but must be under proper control at all times.
No pets other than dogs are permitted.
• One baby bed and one high chair is available on request for which there is no extra charge
• Extra maid service is usually available upon request and is paid locally
• All utilities are included in the rental price
• If you arrive outside of the acceptable arrival times you may be charged a late arrival fee
• Departures must take place before 10 am.
• If available, cook service must be arranged at least two months prior to arrival and is subject to the availability of the
cook.
